TBC Student Ministry Focus:

TBC Student Ministry exists to proclaim Christ and make disciples of Christ by equipping students to know God's Word and be engaged in ministry.

 

TBC Student Ministry 2025 Yearly Focus

TBC Student Ministry exists to proclaim Christ and make disciples who live fully pleasing to God by living and loving like Jesus and leading others to do the same.

 

Weekly Ministries:

 

Sunday Morning Bible Fellowship Groups -  9:15 am

Every Sunday morning, students enjoy fellowship & donuts in the ROC Coffee Shop starting @ 9:15 am followed by a focused time exegetically studying God's Word in peer groups led by gifted adult teachers. BFG classes are grade & gender-specific. This Fall, BFG classes use the Explore the Bible curriculum in Genesis, Job, Zechariah, Malachi, & John.

Sunday Evening Small Groups - 5:00-7:00 pm

Sunday evenings kick off at 5:00 pm with dinner provided to students in the ROC Coffee Shop. Dinner is followed by a short teaching time in the ROC Auditorium. Small Groups follow the teaching time in order to dig deeper into the study through dialogue and faithful application. Small Groups are grade & gender-specific. Following Small Groups, students play Ultimate Frisbee every Sunday evening from 7:00-8:00 pm in the ROC Gym. This Fall, Small Groups are walking through Ten Questions to Diagnose Your Spiritual Health by Dr. Don Whitney.

 

Wednesday Evening, "The Gathering" -  6:30-7:45 pm

Wednesday nights evenings start with dinner in the Fellowship Hall at 5:30 pm followed by The Gathering, our student-led worship service at 6:30 pm in the ROC Auditorium. This time on Wednesday nights begins with an organized and spontaneous ice-breaker enjoyed by students and leaders alike followed by worship led by the student band and an exegetical study of Scripture. Following The Gathering, Open ROC Nights are opportunities for students to enjoy fellowship with one another through organized games and activities from 7:45-8:45 pm. This school year, we are walking through the book of Romans.

  • Cost: $100 per person (Cash or Check)
  • Theme: A Walk With God: Guided by the Psalms
  • Speaker: Lance Mennen. Lance grew up in a Baptist Church in the Kansas City Suburbs (Go Chiefs!). After attending a small college Majoring in Pastoral Ministries with a Minor in Church Music, he spent two years in Sweetwater, Texas. There he realized the need for a better grasp of theology and how to handle the Word of God. He attended the Master’s Seminary then moved to France to spend 8 ½ years working with a struggling church and Muslim immigrants. He returned to the United States and became the Youth & Music Pastor at the church Heather Wilkerson grew up in. Lance currently works as a Hospice Chaplain and part-time Worship Leader. He definitely married up. He and Laura have a blended family with 9 children ranging from 13 years old to 27 years old. Lance and Laura have 4 grand kids. Lance enjoys hunting, shooting, playing pickleball with his family, teaching, walks with his wife, and, on a side note, is one of the inventors of BamBoard.
